Went fishing.

Postby Lefty » 03 15, 2015 •  [Post 1]

And ended up in some elk country
The plan was to fish. My wife and I were too late, fisherman had been in and out of our" secret hole" a number of this this week, And an otter was messing around . So no fishing action
New plan .Lets look for sheds.
The county had taken a plow in Friday and broke trail over the groomed snowmobile trail. With he bright sun and todays melt it was an easy4x4 drive.
The elk were around. We never spotted any. But cut lots of fresh track. My wife about jumped out of her seat where three elk cross our truck track we had been on 20 minutes before
Idaho Caribou Range in the forefront and the Wyoming Salt Range covered with snow in the very back.
sort of sad. Two years ago the road wasn't passable until the middle of April. Four years the road wasn't open until mid May. roads below 6500 feet were dusty instead of mud and snow.

Not a bad trade off for the loss of a fishing outing.

Yes sir, we are looking at the same snow conditions here in the central part of Idaho as well, roads will open at least a month early this year, I like that part! (grin)
