shed hunting

Postby powderhogg01 » 09 29, 2014 •  [Post 1]

I found a shed this year while out hunting. in fact the area I found was awesome, no other hunters at all, super steep security habitat and lots of water and forage sites. The water was mostly small spring seeps coming up from the ground for a few yards before going back under earth. I will likely hunt this area next year if I do not get the unit I really want. I am curious, as I have not done much of it.. If I found sheds from both deer and elk here this season, will this be a good place to look come spring when they are dropping again? its a grind to get in there, but the number of bones I found tells me its not picked like most of the other parts of colorado i have looked. If anyone has some input here.. I do not mind walking around the woods with my dog, but its so much better when your pack has a bunch of bone on it.
