Trying to decide where to go

Anyone have advice for a firsttimer to go east or west want to hunt during muzzy but I will be using my bow anyone wanna go and help me get my first elk

Western WA? One of the better muzzleloader units (imo) is the Kincaid/carlton area. You'll have fierce competition though and will be tough with a bow in October

Yeah I can hunt bow during muzzy what gmu is it

easier to find lower hunter densities on the east side man. you couldnt pay me to hunt in western washington

Yeah it's horrible in Muzzleloader & rifle season. Glad I'm not doing that rat race anymore!

if i were even contemplating hunting western washington elk id look up the states map on all the reported hoof disease sightings and avoid those areas. they say the meat is safe to eat, but id rather not. as far as antler restrictions go the ne corner is awesome, but there are few elk here and the guys who get them are the guys who have put tons of time into it over the years. or theyre the guys who have 2000+ acre chunks of private property covered in alfalfa where the elk go during rifle season.
