Thunder Storms

Postby nrocchio » 08 29, 2014 •  [Post 1]

I figured I would try to contribute to the forum since all I really do is read and ask questions ha. I am sitting here in Colorado looking at another thunder storm rolling in. With all of the bad weather we have been getting like clockwork in the afternoon, I thought I would post this for any one else who might get caught on a mountain during one of these storms this month. Even if this is old news for most I think it was a good reminder of what to do if lightning becomes a threat during your hunt. Good luck, have fun, and be safe!

Nick, you contribute a lot to this forum, I always check out your posts. Thanks for a good reminder Re lightning. As my old boss Bob Maxwell used to say (about almost anything), "that's the first thing that'll kill ya."

I've had several lightning storms come in while climbing summits this year, and that is no fun when you're above timberline. I always descend as quickly as possible when they hit, but that's probably not the best idea. Thanks for the link.
