Tuning Broadheads

I do not claim to be a pro, far from it. This is the first year with a compound. I have hunted with a recurve for a number of years so the tuning thing is different this year. I thought I had my bow tuned and ready until I put on my broadhead. Out to 50yds it all looked good at 60yds things were getting bad, at 75yds the broadheads were way off. The broadheads were hitting low and left of the field points. I reasoned that the problem was being multiplied by the extra guiding power of the boadhead. I decided to move my rest right and up, and that the broadhead would move far faster than the field point. Bingo! it worked. I have my broadheads and field points dead on at 75yds. I came in to my other yardages and was amazed at how my groups had tightened up. Anybody else out there have experience with this?

My broadhead were 9" lower than my fieldpoints at 40 yrds With the fine help from this website telling me to raise my rest. It's looking allot better. But i still need to shot more and make sure before I move my sights. My new target is coming on Monday. The old target was holding no arrow, I was spending all my time looking for my arrows

I shoot Magnus Stingers and my broadheads hit right with my field points, out to 50 at least. Most accurate broad head I have shot.

Mine starts with a tuned bow. Then the arrow. I'll square both ends. Then all it takes is a broadhead I know spins true. I haven't had to do walk back tuning, moving my rest or my sight left or right, up or down. Love this D350

I just helped a friend broadhead tune two bows today. Did the same as you. Its amazing that moving a rest 1/16 of an inch can move an arrow 4 inches. I dont care what bow you shoot. If the bow is timed and tuned perfectly, you still may need to ove your rest when shooting broad heads. For example, i shot my target bow all summer. I t shot great out to 60 with field points. I put a small broad head on and had to move my rest right a little. Did my bows tuning change ,no. The timing was still spot on. Its just a broad head will show more than a broad head will. Especially at distance.

Check ur knocks and make sure they are in time as well I did this today just something a young bow hunter forgets to check my pops helped me out today cause I have been unhappy with my groups and have been shooting more I feel way better after today and am happy to have some real experienced bow hunters in my family to call me out on bad habits ect....

I quit trying to paper tune. I got completely frustrated. Like I said I am no pro. We live miles from a proper bow shop so everything I do is trial and error.
