1 Pin sight

Looking into possibly purchasing a 1 pin sight. What would you recommend and does it have more advantages over the traditional 3,5 & 7 pin sights ? I am looking for a good quality 1 pin sight that doesn't break the bank. Thanks in advance for everyone's input and/or suggestions.

I was in the same boat last year as you are now. I wanted a good single pin sight that was durable and was not going to break the bank. Well all the great folks on here pointed me towards the Montana Black Gold Ascent sight and it was worth every penny !! I love this sight and it will always be on my bows !! Hope that helps.

I have a Montana Black Gold. Their top of the line one pin sight. It was on my bow on 19 Oct when I had a 160" WT at 19 yards quartering to me. I didn't like the angle and waited. He turned and walked back to about 32 and stopped. No time to adjust before he finally walked out. Oct 20 5 pin sights were on my bow! Moved my stand on 22 Oct and killed that buck. I like to shoot 1 pin sights in the yard but have found they just dont fit my hunting style even though I am more accurate with them. Its a tradeoff but for me I'll take fixed pins every time. Game can move faster than I can adjust a single pin.

i have the black gold ascent 3 pin adjustable imo its the best of both worlds... set each of the three pins to a specific yardage. for example 20-30-40 and then use one of those pins as your zero for the dial to dial any yardage beyond

I was also in the same boat last year. I almost bought a BlackGold after talking with their customer service. Alot of guys shoot them! I wanted smthng I could get more distance out of than what I had. I bought an IQ. I LOVE IT!!!!!! 20 yds my as$!! This sight changed my life!! I did have to make a small bracket to be able to get more "range" out of it but I now have a pin at 80 & can shoot as well there as I could 50 or less before! I know this is "off" your ?? & I know people are high on the BlackGold's but just throwin my experience out there. It is crazy at how much this sight has helped me!

I have a cbe 3 pin slider. With 3 pins sit at 20,30 40. With the 40 being my slide. Any more than 3 pins. The sight picture is just to clutery for me.

a one pin slider is great for stationary 3d animals, but when it comes to actual hunting the last thing I want to be doing is fiddling with my sight. there Is enough that can go wrong, why put one more possible, ooops! into it?

One thing to consider - I set my single pin at 30, and do not need to move it at all inside 40 yards. At 40 I hold a little high, 20 a little low. Beyond that I adjust.

I also use the black gold ascent 3 pin adjustable, I found with one PIN it was nice to do distance shooting and get used to shooting at long range but when hunting had to many times where I would forget to adjust or have the animal move out of the range I was initially set at when in close.

Love a single pin, leave it at 20, practice with that setting out to 40 and can still aim on the deer if I get into the situation razorback did, many guys set at 27 gives you the most range on many set ups without having to adjust. shot 5 to 7 pins for years and just do not care for the sight picture at all! I like the idea of the 2 or three pin sight with the bottom pin being a floater, montana bg are nice, g5 used to make a sight with a floater pin!
