New Mexico 16A &16D

Postby Steve G » 04 23, 2014 •  [Post 1]

My hunting partner and his father both drew NR tags for the second rifle season in NM. 16D for the father, 16A for the son. I will be joining the hunts, so that I can help out and learn the country for the day that I draw. We will be doing the hunts unguided on public land. These are not easy tags for a non-resident to draw so I am hoping somebody who has previously hunted these hunts might be able to share some information by PM or otherwise. Should be an incredible trip regardless.

Thanks,
Steve

No. They were both drawn for second season rifle. So far it looks like beautiful country and while its not flat, it is much less rugged / steep than what I have become accustomed to. I would love to do that hunt with archery.

I look forward to you posting up about the big slob of a bull that you are gonna drop.

Steve,
I thought the same thing when I looked at it on google earth. Not to steep. It's nothing like I hunted in Montana. The outfitter told me to make sure I'm in shape(which I will) but it doesn't look to bad to me. This will be the first time I'll be hunting NM and the anticipation is killing me! Lol
