Well I'm not an expert but it's too simplified. The author left out too many consideration factors.

Agree with JF. I like the simplicity of the brief article and it does kind of ring true for a very, very basic approach but way too many variables, potential scenarios, time of day thermals, quantity of area pressure, time of the rut, is the bull vocal, etc., etc., omitted to truly aid some of the newer cats heading on a first wapiti hunt with just the information given. The author mentioned "when you break 200 yards, nock an arrow and grab your calls". This, IMO, is way too far out to shake the oysters of a bedded herd bull, in his house, on a heightened state of alert (let alone one that is not bedded). Start calling at 200 yards and Bullwinkle may answer but you'll probably never get close to him as he and his gals will be moving over the next ridge as you attempt to get closer. A threat to a bedded herd bull must be close.. you've got to give him no options but to come and clean your clock as you've stepped into his bedroom and have pretty much told him that you like his girls and want to take them to your bachelor pad. No expert here, just my thoughts.

For some midwest or easterner it is a good 400 word foundation.
