Base Camp Showers

Postby WapitiTalk1 » 05 15, 2023 •  [Post 1]

Yes, you stinky goats.. you should have a base camp shower system to wash that Hunting grunge off every handful of days. No, this doesn’t apply to those with 38 foot trailers. Tell us about your anti-grunge, anti potential baboon arse wash up setup.

I use a pan of water, wash cloth and soap or wet wipes. I had a camp shower once, I hung it out in the sun from a tree limb until the squirrels chewed until it would not hold water. I wash daily so I do not build up excessive smell.

I use to go in clean as possible but generally only over a one night stay
We bought the 14 foot RV toy hauler and I live the clean life. 8-)

A real shower, 36x36, hot water. Not as much water pressure as at home,,

A 2 gallon weed sprayer works great. Just add some warm water and a little extra length of hose and you are all set!

I pretty much just pay attention to the wind

Go home and shower when i get too ripe. You may not want to stand too close to me after 4 or 5 days of bear hunting in the august heat. Those big oversized unscented baby wipe things are nice, but they only do so much. Not a real replacement for an actual shower.

I get by on wipes when my diet is without processed, high fat and/or high salt . B.O. is much less. Almost non-existant actually. When I eat brats, hot dogs, ham etc my B.O. potential goes way up.

Pure and simple. Thats my approach all the way.

It doesn't need to be Augusst,,,
I don't like to smell myself

Found the pic. 90 PSI,, Need to be careful where I point the hose,,, and no need for soap

never thought to take a pic, but in the 90s I worked for an outfitter that had a beer keg with a spring fed line to it. Then he tapped a shower head into the beer keg. Next he attached a weed burner to the bottom. It was finicky trying to get a temp that make the ice queen shiver or the devil sweat, but when it did it was about as good a feeling as you could get in October 7 miles from the road.

The best camp shower I ever experienced was in a travel trailer. All of the rest were better than nothing. Some you approached with fear and trembling. Considering that a bath is not a shower, I have to admit I looked forward to the Hart Mountain hot springs. They were special.
