Rule Breaker

Postby Tigger » 09 16, 2021 •  [Post 1]

I have heard that 7mmfan broke the forum rules by spitting yesterday. Outlaw!

And someone that I will not name...yet....stayed up past 10:00 PM. Heathen!

You folks need to obey the rules while RJ is gone or he is going to make us vacuum this place again!

Dangit. I thought no one was looking. I'm telling you though, that old lady had it coming! I'll confess, it was also me that stayed up past 10:00. I also had a 2nd helping of ice cream after my son went to bed, took and extra long lunch, and fed the dog some table scraps. What's my punishment boss!?

Well, you can start with cleaning out the WapitiTalk corporate jet. It is once again full of cheetos (Indian Summer loves cheetos). There is orange powder everywhere.

Then, when you are finished with that, you need to go get Big Red (RJs muscle car). One of the rules is we cannot drive it. however, the loop hole is we can trailer it!!!! So go get it and we will start our annual modifications. I, for one, know that RJ really appreciates our thoughtfulness when it comes to helping him out with his car!

Man, if that jet looks anything like what my 4 year old does after eating cheetos, I'm in for it.

I found a HUGE spoiler the other day in some blackberry bushes by my work. It has to be 4' tall. It's got some cosmetic scratches, dents, dings, rust holes, nothing that can't be buffed out I don't think. Would be a nice addition. Should I bring the cutting torch?

Yeah, bring the cutting torch. Knowing RJ, he has thrown a few good-natured obstacles in our way! He is such a Home Alone type when it comes to Big Red! But nothing a cutting torch won't fix. That spoiler will be great. Pick up as many extreme political stickers as you can....from both sides. It will make Big Red stand out. Not to mention confuse a few people when the see I Love Trump and I Love Biden on the same car!!!

I already rattle canned it with gray primer. My son helped, he did a pretty good job. The rust holes didn't quite buff out, not sure why. Either way we stuffed them full of Bondo and called it good.

I'm rethinking my hunting trip this weekend, I'd really like to get out in the woods. The road I need to drive up will be a veritable river though, and it's pretty brushed in. How much of that wood paneling you have Tigger? We may need it to cover the alder pinstripes. My neighbor has some old snow tires for his 1980 F250 next to his house, I might see if I can mount those to add some extra clearance and traction for the river ride up the mountain. Would hate to get any water inside. I'll bring the drill though, can always just cut some drain holes as necessary. Probably going to need to use that cutting torch on the wheel wells to make sure the tires don't rub, that's always annoying.

No, no, no. You rulebreaker! We cannot drive it. We can only trailer it. But I see no reason you couldnt trailer it up there and use it as a basecamp. Maybe a place to cook out of the rain?

Fine. Sheesh you guys are no fun.

I was sizing up Big Red last night and realized that it's lacking in a few pretty important areas. Cargo space, headroom, and exhaust. I've added some photos for reference of alterations that I think we should complete immediately. A new more streamlined front end would really help when plowing up those brushed in roads.

yes, now you are talking. RJ needs Big Red to be a brush buster, although he might not realize it yet. Talk about doubling your fun....driving your pride and joy muscle car while elk hunting has got to be right up there! now that we have the exterior pretty much set, we need to revamp the interior and the running gear!

I was told the lift kits in
Made a sweet push bar,
Who's putting the mounting bar on the frame?

I still think we can make a full exterior roll cage, so we won't damage the sheet metal paint

Work has been a real dog this week. My 4 year old stayed home from preschool for a couple days so I turned him loose with an angle grinder. He did surprisingly well. By that I mean he really ground a lot of metal. Had to change the wheel twice! Probably going to need that roll of vinyl wood paneling you showed earlier Tigger. Anyway, the critically needed mods have been accomplished, (head room, cargo space, and exhaust) now it's just detail work.

Clearance! We NEED more clearance! Nothing says you are a manly man like a lifted vehicle. And RJ needs all the help he can get.

Wood panel siding is on the way along with some big meats.

I would say so. Knowing he's packing big meats around would give me a totally different impression of him.

Update, Grayson got the grinder out again this morning while I was working. The kid is really talented. He did things that I did not know you could do with an angle grinder. Lets just say that headroom is definitely not an issue now, nor is air flow. He had a brilliant idea of adding a backup braking system just in case the brakes fail while careening down a mountain road. Just think Fred Flintstone...

Grayson may become the WapitiTalk custom body man! I like his work and thought process. It was a little stuffy in that car. Needed some airflow and updates. The secondary braking system is brilliant and as RJ always like to be careful, I am sure he will appreciate the modification.

LED accent lights. Maybe a blue color? What does Grayson think?

Purple is his favorite color currently. Maybe black lights would be a good compromise. We would know for dure when IS had taken Big Red out for a joy ride anyway, just by flipping them on. I wonder how bright cheeto dust glows under black lights?

There's a jeep place down the road from me that does that. Not sure if Wapiti Talk has the budget to have them do the work though. What happened to big meats?
