Havent found a thing yet but a few days ago i was hiking around looking for somewhere good to call cats (7.5 miles that day only called once.) And i started finding a bunch of moose tracks. Then a wax leaf ceanothus bush... then lots of ceanothus. A hillside ive been above and below, but never on, was loaded with ceanothus, moose tracks, turds, rubs... but unfortunately the snow had recently piled up ball deep. Could have easily been paddles under all that snow. Im going back when it melts off this spring. Gotta be something there. Probably old paddles too as this place has been closed to motorized travel for a few years now and i was a few miles in and up.

I did actually get a new shed this year, but i didnt find it. A friend texted me a while back that he found it, so i gave him a fresh brown moose paddle for this chewed up ol deer shed that had been getting destroyed by mother nature for almost 4 years. Its the 2016 right side of my buck i got in 2017 with my raffle tag. Not a doubt in my mind. Wish i could get the left. Chewed up and bleached out, totally irrelevant, this shed was worth its weight in gold to me.

In the course of my lion huntimg today i pulled a camera. Looks like theres a nice set of sheds somewhere in that creek bottom. Walking around with just one antler a week ago. Guess i should go back up there and poke around a bit.

Looks like a nice buck I got a couple big whitetails to go shed hunting for too, they gave me the slip this year seen a flash but no shot. Got a 320 class bull elk to go poking around for sheds too found his winter bedding. -20C here and most still got their headgear.

Getting snow in the right areas for me right now. I was getting worried that we wouldn’t have enough snow to hold the bulls before they shed. Really need a bunch more but I will take what we are getting.

A couple trips and around $700 worth so far. I have 2 more trips I want to do and both have a possibility of having some decent horns if I get time to go. I try to find enough horns every year to pay for all of my hunting expenses, need some more for this year for sure :D

Where you shed hunting,, or maybe give us a more scenic look of whats all around you

I ran around and glassed some desert I generally find something nice. But I think the good winter put the elk up a bit higher,
And wow the area I went to last week had sign of lots and lots of traffic

Right fork of where the road splits lefty. ;) Can’t say any more then that :)...I have some pictures of what we called the “glory days” but we never showed anything ever because we didn’t want anyone to have an idea of how many horns we found. Only got out 3 times this year and one of those was just for a few hours. I still have two good areas I need to hit but might not get there this year. This has been a hard spring with some medical stuff going on in the family so I haven’t got out much.

Well here's what i turned up for sheds this spring. Found a matching set of moose horns in a creek bottom while working surveying forestry cutblocks! When work turns into play it's a win. Did 15 miles through the bush looking for the king 6x6 elk sheds but they never showed up. All moose sheds this year can't complain. :D

Yeah, found a spot today where there are berries. Not a great crop by any means, but better than nothing. I let 2 young bears walk aready this morning. I must be getting soft.

Nah, you're just being like a good timber company and "selectively harvesting" that particular timber, err, bear population ;)
