Other elk places

Postby Lefty » 04 04, 2021 •  [Post 1]

Growing up I had read of the 17 elk population in northern Minnesota,
Otherwise I'd only thought of elk as a Rocky mountain animal,
Moving to Washington State of course elk were in Washington and Oregon and up the coast in Canada

This morning I visited an area that I ran a traplines in , over 40 years ago. Maybe I knew, maybe I didn't but the panhandle of Nebraska and South Dakota

Black Hill have elk.

Nebraska elk almost got me into trouble this morning. I spotted tracks, and just kept going up the mountain, the road getting smaller and smaller, more snow cover, the two track much more greasy some places, the frost was coming out with some nasty places ready to gobble up my trucks tires.

But what a neat ride. I saw whitetail, muledeer antelope, lots of turkeys, so much game.

Sunrise early Easter morning

Rightfully so. I should never text on my phone.

I would like to think someone went and changed what I wrote. Spell check and I didn't proof read turned my horrible textinging into a mess

I am just back from a few days in southern Oregon. I went down to visit my sister. Anyway I would have cleaned up your first post, but I thought I just might add to the confusion.

Some of us have a good understanding of confusion anyway.
