Traction Straps

Postby js80138 » 03 24, 2020 •  [Post 1]

While browsing social media today an ad appeared that really hit home for a guy that has gotten stuck in ice, snow and mud, more than once. Can anyone offer an opinion on any of the new products ie. Trac Grabber, Tread Ready etc. I did see one that I thought would be the most durable called, Tire Chains Emergency Strap, www.tirechain.com/Tire-Chains-Emergency-Large-Truck.htm, that contains more metal than rubber or strap. I realize chains are the tried and true device however sometimes we do hit a homerun with a new product.

I would recommend saving your money and just go out along the highway in snow country and pick them up for free.

Gotta be careful with anything put over a tire and under most newer vehicles
I have a set of “ log cutters” carbide tipped truck chains for pick ups

I use to use chains a lot proper fit is the most important

I’ve quit hauling chains around
I’m guessing the last ten times I’ve been stuck with chains I never should have been there anyway

I use to get a kick out of being where one shouldn’t be, now I avoid all that
