Now that’s a great tune!

Postby WapitiTalk1 » 12 15, 2019 •  [Post 1]

Ok, figured I’d start this with the long off season/winter approaching. Not sure why, but many of the outdoorsmen/hunters I have known over the years have a deep love for music.....all genres it seems. Here’s a place to post up/share a killer song (country, rock, metal, R&B, grunge, funk, classical, etc., that rings your bell so to speak. My musical tastes run far and wide as you’ll see. I’ll start with this from old Merle and Willie. Who’s next?

It is as simple as copy-paste. Copy the address of the video and paste it on your post. Do you want me to give another demonstration of my copy and paste skill? :P

I do not know how to do that. I added another link to your music list to show that you have some interesting variety in your musical taste. I like it a lot better than "Butthole Surfers".

Yep Im sure you could,,,, now. the newer tables and handles and bars just never felt quite right to me But like my brother said we're has beens
Use to love that game,.. maybe because I was really good 8-)
Always, no exception,.. came home with money in my pocket, pulling quarters

I played back:
I eventually had Carpel tunnel releases in both wrist,,,,

I still know what shot to make,.. but it just doesnt happen anymore,.. Years ago I told students I wouldnt sell my table until someone beat me,,, my wrists were so bad I couldn't even hold a framing hammer, A former student had heard a girl beat me, he hauled the table out of the shop that day

In tournament play if I got the ball I made just under 50% of my shots from the back . If I could see a hole I generally made it, Straight, angle or bank.

Naw:  no Chey owner could beat me, and red paint doesn't make a car go faster

Boy Im on one today,.. My wifes last day at work is tomorrow
Swede thinks he was picking on me,

I knew it. One of those damn back guys that banked; tough to block. And if you anticipated it, wham...a pull, push, or pin shot shot down the middle. Congrats to the Mrs on her retirement Dennis. I’d love to find one of those old mid late 70s tables and restore it.

I think I replaced everything on my last table, bars, glides, handles, men

Yep I really made a lot of guys freak out, If I had the chance to make two banks on a game most teams fell apart.
Most teams left me that short outside bank or that bit of an angle with my ball 1 1/4 inches from the wall
I had lots of pull shot,s most couldnt guess what was coming or stop.

I sat in the goose pit, let her sleep in, then took her to lunch, let her nap a few minutes, now going out to get the Christmas lights. She said she wants recovery time,.. and the end of goose season should be about right

Man, the 80s had some great jams, but you see these videos and just have to wonder what these "new wave" bands were thinking. So much effort to look so ridiculous.

A friend who is a great drummer shared this with me. While we ate all stuck at home missing each other and realizing how much we need our friends I thought it was very appropriate. It’s a Foo Fighters song I really like with a little twist... it was mixed by David Grohl from the Foo Fighters with singers from all around the globe. I can’t lie it made me teary eyed. Enjoy!

This is one from of my favorite albums. Ugly Casanova: Sharpen Your Teeth. Ugly Casanova is pretty much Modest Mouse + Black Heart Procession. I saw black heart procession live once when i was about 20 years old, but i was out of my mind on fresh picked psilocybin mushrooms so i cant say whether they were good or not. But this album is awesome

So i have to do it again. Flash back to 20 years ago, first time i heard this was on a long couple days having fun with lsd in my teen years. A couple decades later i still love it, it really made an impression. Give it a try, it really is very good. If you were into the 80s punk scene, this band is rodney from the dead milkmen and his wife. Their marraige pretty much broke up the dead milkmen the way i understand things. So she was the yoko ono of the 80s, but way less crappy than the actual yoko ono

While im on the subject, joe gennaro from the dead milkmen went on to form butterfly joe with dean sabatino also from the dead milkmen. Not as awesome as burn witch, burn. But there was a dean involved, so bonus points for that

And here is a song called "Dean's dream" from the Dead Milkmen's album "Big Lizard in my Backyard" circa 1985. Joe jack talcum (butterfly joe) on vocals on this one. Him and rodney from BWB pretty much split up vocals for dead milkmen. Rodney was singing on bitchin camaro on this album, which i think was the song that made dead milkmen "famous"

I went to philly to visit a friend several years ago, and we went to a house party in some screwed up suburb nearby and i met joe genarro ( butterfly joe) of dead milkmen fame and i kind of geeked out on him having grown up on the dead milkmen, and i think i kind of creeped him out. Less than a week later i was in seattle at a sleepy time gorilla museum show, and joe genarro was playing as an opener. I kinda wanted to go talk to him to REALLY freak him out, but i didnt. Anyway, here is some sleepy time gorilla museum that youll probably all hate. But i assure you, theyre amazing live.

Since i cant seem to stop posting up music based on association of what i previously posted, heres another. I thought of this after posting pink floyd. I met pink floyds drummer, nick mason, about 15 years ago, and got his autograph. My ******* ex girlfriend ( she was there at the time), while moving out while i was at work, stole my autographed record. She also stole this, i had the very first, original print off the negatives, from the photographer, to this, the cover of the last white zombie album ever released. It was maybe worth it to get rid of her.

And if im putting up white zombie, i may as well post up rob zombie. This was in the cd player a lot during my pt defiance, riverside, etc mushroom picking voyages. Man it was fun being a stupid, invincible kid. I remember stealing my moms ford exploder to go down to oregon on some ridiculous pretense to try to find psilocybe azurescense, listening to hellbilly deluxe ans SGM the whole way.

End of the 80s. Everybody is dressed like a goober. Including you. You go to the theatre and buy a ticket to the new movie that just came out. This tasty jam is playing during the opening credits. What are you watching?

Musicians all dress funny, i think its a requirement. But the 70s "funny" had a hell of a lot more style and taste than what came after in the 80s and 90s!

Whatcha gonna do?
Time's caught up with you
Now you wait your turn
You know there's no return
Take your written rules
You join the other fools
Turn to something new
Now it's killing you
First it was the bomb
Vietnam napalm
Disillusioning
You push the needle in
From life you escape
Reality's that way
Colours in your mind
Satisfy your time
Oh you, you know you must be blind
To do something like this
To take the sleep that you don't know
You're giving death a kiss, oh, little fool now
Your mind is full of pleasure
Your body's looking ill
To you it's shallow leisure
So drop the acid pill,
Don't stop to think now
You're having a good time baby
But that won't last
Your mind's all full of things
You're living too fast
Go out enjoy yourself
Don't bottle it in
You need someone to help you
To stick the needle in, yeah
Now you know the scene
Your skin starts turning green
Your eyes no longer seeing
Life's reality
Push the needle in,
Face death's sickly grin
Holes are in your skin,
Caused by deadly pin
Head starts spinning 'round
You fall down to the ground
Feel your body heave
Death's hands starts to weave
It's too late to turn
You don't want to learn
Price of life you cry
Now you're gonna die

Maybe ive posted enough sweet rockin jams that the server decided to no longer host videos on wapititalk.com? Maybe a dozen or so more sicj DIO jams will fix things....

Ya, that’s odd. I’ll check with my super smart web guy but in the interim, start another similar thread and see if you can embed a VID. Maybe this thread had reached its max, not sure.

Update: It appears that the site software is out of date and needs upgrading (old software does not support the way we used to embed VIDs). When I do this (probably the end of this month or early February, I'll let everybody know). RJ

My heart's stopped pumping
But my blood is still alive
The rain hits the ground (Swallows drop in)
And the trees they dry it up (And dice the sky)
My eyes wake up (Tracing lines of cursive)
But my brain is sleeping fine (Form the horizon)
One more thing for you and I to do (Cutting cat faces)
Before we shut our eyes (In the pines)
And you'll blame me (Cutting cat faces)
And I'll blame you (In the pines)
And we're both right
Cutting cat faces in the pines (Cutting cat faces in the pines)

They say his teeth are wood (Mark the path back)
And they want my pictures of him (To the point of departure)
The rain hits the ground (Two by two and four by four)
And the trees they dry it up (The pines, they lay down)
We're wood screws (We're wood screws)
All of our lives (All of our lives)
And we're wood screws (We're wood screws)
All of our lives (All of our lives)

And the rain hits the ground (I lay down)
And the trees they dry it up (With the southern range)
My chain hits the wood (Swallows drop in)
And the wood it turns to dust (And dice the sky)
I picture you (Tracing lines of cursive)
As if you were a pine (On the horizon)
My heart stopped pumping (My heart stopped pumping)

These guys have been around my entire life, i believe a bit longer actually. Just recently got into them. Ozzys boneyard plays maybe 5 or 6 of their songs pretty regularly, and always found myself cranking up the stereo when they came on. So i ordered 3 of their cds and theyre 98% awesome jams (probably shouldnt have covered steppenwolf), so i figured id drop one of their big hits here. https://youtu.be/JjVjOiaQLEE

I wish we could post videos here. I’m a HUGE fan of live music. I have lots of friends in bands. Pittsburgh has some really incredible talent and some truly amazing people. Several of our friends have moved to LA and Nashville over the years. I’m a booking agent for one band.

I’m about to build a stage in my backyard. Actually it’s a stage behind the house of a friend who’s son is in a really good band. When they were kids they played at parties at his house. But they all just graduated from high school and they’re out making money playing at bars and events. They played the Hard Rock Cafe in the Burgh and also the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. I gotta go disassemble the stage from his house which is actually just a 20x12 deck with a drum riser deck in the back and 2 sets of stairs. I was going to build one and he said take it. More work but with the cost of lumber these days it saves me about $3000 or so.

My yard is sloped slightly like an amphitheater. Pool, three fire pits, tiki bar. Plants everywhere. I’m working on the entry gate to the area. It’s going to have a sign hanging from the bottom that says “The Sound Garden”. I was inspired by another friend who has a place not far from me called Blueberry Hill. He cleared out a small area in the middle of the woods and built a stage. After that he went crazy with little paths and lighting. Signs everywhere and furniture. He has a couple annual concerts that are a blast.

Here’s a pic of one of my hangouts. Fun zone. I gotta get this stuff on the wall!

YOU listen to THAT? Nice!

Ok I’ll confess… I’m a headbanger. There’s probably not an 80s hair band you can think of that I haven’t seen. I saw the original Black Sabbath with Ozzy. Then Black Sabbath with Ronnie James Dio singing on the Heaven and Hell Tour. Ozzy solo with Randy Rhodes. The video you posted is Zakk Wylde on guitar. I saw him with Ozzy as well. He has a unique and incredible sound!

Here’s a favorite featuring him at home playing one of my favorite Ozzy Osbourne songs. No vocals so you can really hear him play. I love the drums in this one too. Being a drummer with several friends who play in bands I always favor songs with catchy drums.

I’ve seen the huge legendary rock bands like the Stones, Pink Floyd, The Who etc. Some great oldies like Alvin Lee and 10 Years After. Saw every tour Van Halen did as well as David Lee Roth’s solo tour. He had an incredible band after he left Van Halen. Two huge bands I never saw are AC/DC and Metallica. Now I’ll turn this into an elk tale.

A friend of mine booked a guided elk hunt with an outfitter I knew, Eric Weare, up in the Bull River area of northwest Montana. Some of you might be familiar with that country. Grin! It’s thick tough country. So he gets there and meets the other hunters. I wish I was there because the one guy was none other than James Hetfield the rhythm and sometimes lead guitar player and vocalist for Metallica. Holy elkduds! The guy I know said he was a terrible hunter. Haha! Lazy. Always let getting up and never ready to leave on time. He probably got his butt kicked on day 1. I always wondered why a multi millionaire would book such a hunt instead of an expensive high success one. I had to wonder if he decided to go on a real elk hunt instead of taking the easy way out. He can afford to hunt anywhere. Anyway here’s a little Zakk for you.

The picture is my man cave. Acoustic and electric drums. I’m about to hang all the euro mounts in there. I think I’ll go down right now and hammer out this song!

is, ive never seen that. That was great. Thanks. Im a big sabbath fan, and the original ozzy albums are some of my favorite stuff, but i dont have to choose sides, not having any skin in the game, and the dio era sabbath is great too. Dio is probably my favorite hard rock vocalist. Really, its all great. As is ozzys solostuff with zakk wylde. Zakk is about as bad as bad gets. Even athf paid homage to him. https://youtu.be/xT7KTRGIkOI

When I was in 8th grade my buddy had a sister who was a junior in high school. Anne Oh'...

Anyway, all us "boys" had the hots for her. From afar of course since we didn't even have a drivers license yet, or sideburns, or, well, it was all dreams and embarassed gangly guy stuff only. But she sure was the one.
We would play this song turned up to eleven and make our brags. Pretty funny looking back.

I saw alvin lee, jonny winter, heart, blue oaster cult, kiss, leslie west band, slade, zz top. kiss was new years eve in new york. I was a 16 yroild small town kid. just about had a heart attack going to the bathroom. i had never seen a wall of 20 urinals, each with a line ten guys deep all on drugs far as I could tell. I had my own "stage fright" and it took forever to take a wiz.
