WTB: game bags

Postby WYO_ELK » 08 03, 2014 •  [Post 1]

Looking for a set of game bags for this Fall's upcoming elk hunt. I don't care if they are used, but they have to be clean, with no rips.

I don't really know how much they are. I saw there are several different brands anywhere from 10 dollars up to like 70. What do you have and what would you sell them for?

I sew my own but they are patterned after Caribou Gear. They are polyester fabric that stretches vertically 28 inches wide by 48 inches long with paracord as a drawstring. All of my seams are double stitched. The only difference is that I don't stitch in a reflective tag which is a nice feature in the dark. For the money I suggest picking up synthetic fabric over cotton as cotton holds moisture and bacteria. But to each their own. I have seen people use black plastic garbage bags as game bags as well. http://www.elk101.com/store/caribou-gea ... r-game-bag

Go to goodwill and buy old pillowcases.
Bonus points if you get retro groovy colored ones from the 70's.

Then you'll have the money for the $600-$800 pack that you can't elk hunt without. :D

Ditto on the Goodwill pillow cases (king size). It's easy to add a drawstring even if you don't have a sewing machine. I have to admit I feel there is something oddly awesome about my Vera Wang game bags. :P
