2013 Hoyt Spyder 34 $600 TYD

Postby ceng » 11 11, 2013 •  [Post 1]

I have a Hoyt Spyder 34 like new, it's basically off the shelf with about 50-100 arrows through it. It's has 70 # limbs and #3 cams (29"-31") I have the 29.5" module and the It is basically as it come from the manufacturer it needs a fine setup but basically a brand new bow. I bought it, but really want to get a turbo. Please feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

Thanks

Ceng. Just curious if you know what kind of speed you're getting with your Spyder 34. I'm shooting the exact same setup in the Spyder Turbo, but my speed wasn't as much as I expected. I do love the bow, but you might see if the upgrade is worth the $$'s. I am shooting the new Carbon Express Reds (350) @29 1/2", 100 grain broadheads, blazer vanes w/ 4" bohning wraps at about 297 fps. My draw length, cams, etc. are the same as yours and I'm pulling 72 lbs. I don't have the actual full arrow weight, but was surprised that my old Katera (rated at 330 fps) actually outran this bow. Crazy, but might be worth checking side by side. You may not gain as much as you expect. Then again maybe you will. I've heard the new Carbon Spyder Turbos are outrunning the Spyder Turbo by a good clip if price isn't a concern. If that's the case, pick up two and I'll give you my shipping address :). Good luck! I love my Hoyts so I don't think you'll go wrong either way.

Thanks for the input. I haven't chronographed it. I haven't even fully tuned up the bow I've only shot it a little. I realized early that I wanted a turbo, but I also want 80# limbs. I know I don't "need" that but I wanted to give it a try. I have looked at the cs turbo and it's tempting, we'll see if I can scrape that kind of dough together when the time comes. Thanks

I did shoot a new Carbon Turbo. It's sweet!!! A guy shouldn't even pick up a bow that expensive, but it is awesome. Good luck with the shopping!! Nothing like the feeling of a brand new bow ! :)

I should add that I've heard some great reviews about the new Factor Turbo with the new Hoyt cams. Super smooth and a little faster than the Spyder Turbo. Not quite as much as a Carbon. Makes me jealous!!

I just went and shot the 30 inch carbon spyder. Man it was sweet. I just hate to get rid of my alpha max. But $1400 is alot of money. I'm selling my bowtech allegiance also.

I meant to end this post quite some time ago. I sold the bow and have since ordered a Hoyt CS Turbo which I have been waiting for since December 21st .

Sorry for any confusion.
