I've rattled in a couple. Mostly small ones though. I just start off with some soft rattling and then progressivly get louder and more intense. Rake trees and the ground and just try and make it sound authentic. Watch out though cause sometimes they will come in real fast. I rattled in a small forky last year and he came in behind me while I was in the middle of a sequence. I dont know how he didnt see me I he was about 10 yards away. I could of shot him 6 different times, but our area holds some really nice bucks so I figured I would try and use him as a decoy. However, it never panned out. I usually rattle for about 45 seconds or so and then get the bow ready and if nothing comes in ill wait about 2-3 minutes and do it again. Kinda like elk hunting do it for about 45min to an hr and if nothing happens move.
