I'm heading to ID in early June. First spring bear hunt in an area I've never been. Should be fun! Good luck to all who go!

Well if no one is going to post anything from this year...I'll post mine from last year. And it's totally justified since I'm not chasing this spring.

I have a hard time wrapping my head around all the stuff i read about bears not hitting bait. When i first started running trail cams i would put sweet cob and deer blocks in front of some of them, and without fail every one of those spots had bears and bears and more bears, all damn day every day. Maybe its beause baiting bear is illegal here so they havent learned to be suspicious about out of place foods. Anyway i learned real quick not to put food in front of cameras before november.

Hound hunters are placing a lot of baits because of the low :o grizzly hits. I think something is up this year. The camas are blooming already and I havent seen any bear tracks in the snow.
The pics just out of a denning area in Montana, never saw a track this year.

I told my wife we had a pic of a white-tail,.. Her answer: " There aren't white-tails up there"

It kind of blew my mind two years ago, a mountain range, and 20 miles away when we saw a couple white-tail bucks.
The pic is a mile from the continental divide about 8500 ft, I was surprised to see the fox hitting the bait too.
We've only seen one coyote in five trips. I'm guessing the wolves put enough pressure on the coyotes and the fox found some pretty country without coyotes

No spring season in NC, heck last year was the first time they opened black bear season in this part of the state since I have lived here. I am going to be getting a tag every year as long as I can, the season co-insides with deer season so if I can put the smackdown on one while venison gathering than that's OK with me! ;)

Whitey: is there a fall season over there too?

Thanks guys! Not sure what he weighed but if it was any more we'd not have gotten him in the truck :) . 350# give or take? I shot him at 14 yards over bait, first baited bear hunt. Very exciting!
