2014 Wyoming Deer

Postby il_ray_phillips » 02 01, 2015 •  [Post 1]

My 2014 DIY Deer hunt to Wyoming. Spotted this 5x4 at day light. Put the stalk on him and took him at 9:30am with a 385 yards shot from the .270. The haul out was not fun but well worth it!!
My buddy did pretty good also. We found his on a drainage the last morning of our 3 day hunt!

It was a great time! We hunted on general area Y deer tag and area 20 antelope. 30 Miles south of Buffalo.
Paid a trespass fee on a ranch right at the base of the Big Horns. Seen a ton of Antelope, a ton of muley doe
but only seen a small handful of mule deer bucks. We got lucky and got the 2 best bucks we seen. I'm now
trying to decide if I want to hunt in Utah or Colorado for elk this fall. I got a couple leads on some trespass
fee hunts in both states just torn!

Right on! I hunted antelope over there a couple years ago. That tresspass fee is definitley the way to go. I did it all public land. Archery hunting I connected on a doe, and couldn't get a buck. Went back with my rifle and was done after only one stalk but it took me a while to find a piece of public with ANY antelope on it.
