Rutting Season?

Postby Trophyhill » 07 12, 2014 •  [Post 1]

When do Mule Deer Rut in the West? I'm just throwing this out there so guys know what to expect when applying for tags. In the southern half of NM and particularly in SE NM the rutting takes place from about the 3rd week of December to around the middle of January. We do have a January archery hunt from the 1st-15th. How bout where you hunt?

There is ONE late mule deer tag available draw only in the unit I hunt in regularly. What a joke.

Not much better here in Calif., even with max points, it still would be like hitting the lottery. It is a joke here as well :(
