I Drew a moose Tag!

Postby lilshootergirl » 09 16, 2022 •  [Post 1]

I can't believe I drew a any antler moose tag in Washington with 9 points!
Unit 117 November 1st ,headed there October 29th, hoping to scout a bit.. Bought a great spotting scope with window mount & groupie. I moved my brother & wife to Blanchard, Idaho so I tried to scout the area, but fires has roads closed, so Onx & Google earth is my go to., I picked up maps from f&G while I was in Coralville, my daughter & cousins are going to help me!
Watch videos on hunts, a video on what they eat, lots of great information. I've got 30 days to get one, but only 12 days of help, so I better get one in that time.
Plan on returning to Wyoming, bought points, love that area I went to, will have my propane lines changed out this weekend don't want a repeat of 2021!
If you can't find me, I'm not lost. I'm hunting!

Congratulaions;

Pull the kids( or grand kids) from school.

The greatest family hunt out there.

A long ago student share with me the secret to moose hunting
Kill them up hill and close to the pickup.

Again congratulations

I'm ready to hunt moose, the support is so awesome. Replaced my hot water parts, the thermacuplar wasn't closing gas off! Yes, I'm lucky I didn't die in Wyoming! I'm being more prepared, thanks to YouTube walking me through my repairs! I plan on returning to wyoming, I feel cheated with all the problems I faced! ( I will not be defeated) either with a partner or alone! I love that area so much & know it really well now! So ill put in for elk for wyoming 2024! My Daughter will be able to go by then.
Good luck everyone!
Does anyone know if smoke moves moose out of there usual area, if there's still feed in there area?

Do you think the smoke in Colville will displace moose from there core area?
Looks like snow in my area, so may calm down the smoke?
I'm not sure why I always run into issues when I go hunting! Does anyone else have my luck?

Smoke won't bother them at all. Go where you've scouted and have confidence that they'll be there. Smoke is a natural part of the landscape. Animals like deer, elk, moose are frequently spotted moving back into burn areas while the ground is still smoldering.
I hunt therefore I am. I fish therefore I lie.
