So same 10 yr old female i had on cam a few months back. Running with what is most likely her "baby daddy" in a non breeding related social encounter. Uncommon, but not unheard of. After parting ways with him (4 yr old 140lb male) she went straight back to her cubs (which were ear tagged just 3 days prior to this video). Tracking collars are amazing things.

Negative, hes fair game. Im calling bears in the area
Called one in yesterday and the sneaky bastard got to 30ish yards without me knowing, winded me and busted. Funny how they can sneak in without a noise, then sound like a schoolbus crashing through the woods the next second.

I agree they sure can be sneaky. I've never called one in that I know of, but a friend has called in a few. Last one he called in he killed at about 15' when he heard one twig snap behind him. Turned around and there was a 6 footer looking right at him.

I had driven up the atv trail earlier and got a number of pics of this guy listening to me drive buy then going back to feed

I wasnt moving very fast hauling up two buckets of bait, So I must have been close before he left , Three minutes difference
The big guy ate more in 20 minutes than the other two in 8 days One pic he was sticking his tongue out at the camera Another pick he was up close and checking out the camera that is up 8 foot

I didnt haul baits for this food bully.
He was pretty beat up on a pic from over a week ago

I guess I wait till spring to put out more bait for bears
The bear and pine martin were daily regulars
The critters were the recipients of 6 five gallon buckets of Red delicious apple

Minus 20 farenheit? Nope. Double nope. Only thing that would get me outside at that point is a quick scramble to my woodshed and back. Gets as bad as -12 or so here on occasion. Im an indoor cat at that point.

Had a modern firearm elk tag this year. Oct 31 - nov 8th. Decided to sit in a treestand with my .444 marlin and hope for the best. Told myself i was going to stick it out. On november 5th the little voice in my head was saying "this isnt gonna work, those elk arent going to come through, youre wasting your time. You got an idaho deer tag in your pocket, go do that instead it will be great."
So instead of climbing back up in my elk stand on the morning of the 6th as i intended, i gave up and went to idaho. Notice the time stamp. This is 25 yards in front of my stand. Ill be kicking myself in the ass over this for a long time.

When hunting the desert I had gotten bored and decided to go to a lava uplift and glass before dark. I had one pic ( accidently put in the trash when I cleaned files) pic of a 6x6, my box blind, and when zoomed in I could be seen walking away

Bull only here, and any bull at that, no apr. Reason northeast wa doesnt have an apr like the rest of the state is because it has low elk numbers, very hard to be successful even for locals. Most guys from the coast wont even try here. Theyd rather go to spike only, crowded units because they can at least find elk. And this unit has the lowest elk numbers and harvest numbers of any northeast wa unit. Basically the worst of the worst. But theyre here. And i would have most likely had a nice 6pt if i would have just trusted my plan. Turns out the treestand elk hunt was not a waste of time. Idaho was a waste of time. Hindsight is 20 / 20 for sure.

Well, while out chasing the elusive mountain lion today, i checked a couple cameras. Kind of painful, but kind of good too. Theres a buck ive been watching via trail cam for a few years now. Long story short, he showed up with a (cougar caused?) Big wound on his back last year and disappeared, wolf tracks everywhere when i went to check cams 2 days after he had the wound, and he never showed again. I assumed he was dead. Well, not only is he not dead, but he walked by my favorite stand twice during daylight hours on nov 14th while i was screwing around in idaho. Feel like an idiot. Should have been there hunting the ground that i know. The grass isnt always greener on the other side. Here he is 2018, 2019, 2020. Ill post a 2021 pic of him when my tag is on his antlers.

His 2020 pics are all from up high, which the angle makes tine length seem shorter. Doesnt look like he grew much between 19 and 20 but hard to say with the angles. This night pic makes his g3's look outrageous. Looking forward to seeing what hes like next year if he can keep dodging cats and wolves. Ill make a point to keep lion hunting that area this winter. Took one lion and 2 yotes out of there last december.

The real beast is the buck 2 miles due south that a friend killed a couple days ago, right where i killed my 10yr old pig raffle buck in 2017. Id post pics but theyre not mine to post. Hes been hunting that buck for 3 years now, basically since i killed that old pig in 17, which he was after at the time. Thats how i met the guy. No hard feelings apparently.

formidable competition. They hunt 24/7/365 and have more experience than you do!! However, I am looking forward to your grip and grin photo!
