today the day ,.. here anyway, rain wind and snow. I was going to take a pot of stew to my in-laws

: what your stew recipe ?
Tomato, broth, or gravy base?

Ive hauled a bunch of goose meat on scout outings,.. Stew really hits the spot

simple: potatoes, onion, carrots, celery

cook 1/2 diced onion and diced meat together in too much oil , add a stick of butter toss in a big pot add flour or cornstarch to thicken
fry the remainder onion, carrot and celery add to pot
Cut the potatoes into bites size pieces and par boil ,.. and for "goodness sake"( pun intended) leave the skin on
Salt and pepper to taste, maybe a bit of garlic or hot pepper

dang now im hungary

Dang
Im going to be in Mn during most of the muzzleloader elk hunt,.. the only way I'll get elk is if my daughter gets one :(

I use to do a lot of crockpot cream of mushroom dinners as a single guy,..
But some foods like stew and chili I like e the individual flavors

I made elk stew a couple weeks ago and used coffee for the broth. It actually was really good. 4 cups of coffee for the liquid.
