No Bones in my Fish!

Postby WapitiTalk1 » 06 19, 2019 •  [Post 1]

Here's a VID on how to filet bass so you end up with clean filets and "no bones" :D. It works on any similar thick skinned, bony fish (perch, crappie, bluegill, pike, and even the majestic Walleye). With Walleye, some folks like to remove the cheek meat (small piece of tender meat on each side of the head).

Ive done thousands of fish,.. but keeping the belly meat on the fillet,..
One of my closet friends worked at a relatives resort in Minnesota,.He could fillet sunnies and crappie as fast as you tossed them in front of him.
Im not kidding, if the fish was dead, flat and a bit stiff 3-5 fish a minute, crazy fast At a dime apiece he put a bunch of money in his pocket over the summer
A sharp flexible knife is the key

I would add the "zipper" technique to the end but similar to how I filet them. I was under the assumption bass had the Y bone structure like pike. Havent cleaned one before but everything was straight forward.
