I have no issue with how the BC game people dealt with the bull. They could have eaten him for all I care, but I would assume the bull would have left the herd naturally as they do in the wild. Probably he could not gather up any cow elk in the area so the heifers had to do.
Last spring I was reading a car magazine in the library when I came across an advertisement for pheromones. Some company would add pheromones to your favorite cologne. I called and got to talk to their receptionist. I told her I am a bow hunter and wondered if they would add some pheromones to elk urine. I wanted to use it for an elk attractant. As soon as I popped that question, there was a silent pause on the other end of the line, then she hung up. I still wonder if a good mist of fresh (kept frozen until use) pharemones in elk urine would draw elk.
