Our site does not like Tapatalk image uploads for some reason (I have never figured that out :?: ).. Please use another method to upload your pics. RJ

I want to do a test. RJ - if you don't mind, please leave this as is to see who can / can't see the photo.

How many of you can see this Tapatalk upload, and where are you viewing from?

I can see it from laptop (A Mac - Google Chrome and Safari), a PC Laptop (Internet Explorer), phone browser (Chrome and Safari again) and within Tapatalk. I haven't found a scenario where I can't see them yet...

Tapatalk is an app that you can use from your phone or tablet, that (in my opinion) makes it much easier to surf forums from a mobile device - especially if you visit multiple forums that support it.

The issue some people are having - Tapatalk has a way to very quickly and easily upload images from your phone to a forum thread (which is what I did above) - but they get stored on Tapatalk's servers as opposed to the forum's servers or a place like Photobucket. From what RJ has said above and in the past - some people are having issues seeing those pictures.

Office PC and IPhone: I see the first image fine but in order to view the second image, I must "follow the link" to see. In the past, I've followed the link (as the site ADM) and copied the image to my desktop and then edited the member's post to include an actual embedded image. I don't mind helping out doing this but I don't always have the time to take this extra step to ensure a member's image is visible w/o having to follow a link. RJ

RJ - You're seeing both posts correctly. In this case the first one was intended to be an image, the second one was intended to be a link to the image that you had to click to (IMG tag used in the first, URL tag in the second). The first is how it shows up using Tapatalk, I added the second post/link using my laptop and the normal "Post a Reply" button as a additional test to see if it was different for anyone.

I guess what's happening for some people though, is the URL is actually just showing up as an inline image in certain scenarios (For example - Roj, potentially others above)

Edit - if you want to change the second image to be inline / embedded, you don't need to copy to your desktop and embed. Just Edit the post, and replace the leading and trailing "URL" tags, with "IMG", anyone can do that to their own post, and I'd guess any admin, and potentially moderator? Basically - in this case Tapatalk works exactly like Photobucket.

So is there anyway to upload a pic from Tapatalk? It's the only way I access forums.

I want to experiment too. Do either of these approaches work?

1.Here's a pic of my bow sight using the photo function (little mountain landscape-looking button)

Image

2. Here's a picture of a dog, uploaded as an attachment (paper clip button)

I cannot see the picture from your link within the forum from my laptop. If I go to the link directly outside of the forum, I can. If I try to "re-post" it - I get an error - "Your images may only be up to 800 pixels wide." It looks like the picture you took is too large to view within the WT forum. Did it give you an option to pick a smaller size when you uploaded to Tapatalk? (800 pixels is the limit...)

Now they show up without having to click on the box. I can't adjust the pixel size directly from my phone but I can do it with my computer. I'm no technology wizard but maybe it takes that long for them to upload from my phone to Tapatalk ?

I can see your pics through the Tapatalk app, but not my laptop.

Uploads should be pretty much instantaneous - no waiting.

Do you get an option like this when uploading?

Image

If so - make sure you're not picking one with a height or width over 800....

I don't get any options to choose from via Tapatalk as far as pictures go. It automatically posts them now. Even if I try to edit the photo, there is no resizing option.

I think this is the problem with your images, and why I can't see yours but can see all the others. That's my only guess anyways. WapitiTalk limits images to a size of 800x800 - and yours is larger than that.

I do get an option to pick the size of the photo when I initially upload it using tapatalk (See picture above), but there's no option to edit once already uploaded. I'm using the iPhone version - looks like you're on Android... If that option doesn't exist on Android - you'd need to make sure the images are smaller than 800x800 before uploading, or resize them using an app on your phone, or by hosting to a site like PhotoBucket first.

Lol. Thanks. First and only elk I've let an arrow fly at. 11 yard frontal shot and still went 300 yards with a 6 foot wide blood trail. Started archery hunting elk in 2013 but have gone a few times rifle season in CO. Archery is more rewarding. Lol. Patiently waiting for the CO muzzleloader draw. Back to Idaho next year...
