Which Pin

Top pin, bottom pin, or no pin?

I always hope for top pin! Bottom pin is 70 yards so its off limits for an ethical shot for me.

It does not matter as long as it is the correct one for the distance you are shooting.

Thanks & your welcome guys!!

I have 3 pins on my sight! I prefer top pin but will use which ever is needed for the task at hand!! I'd rather have em at spitting range!!!

Which Pin

Postby iRem » 06 11, 2012 •  [Post 13]

I would perfer the Top pin but my bottom pin is only at 60 yards! I set it at 60 yards because I hunt blacktail as well as elk and I do not want to shoot my deer over 60 yards! Elk I have no problem out to 75 yards but like any one else I would like to have em closer!!

No Pins, finger tab...but I shoot a compound. I've started shooting regularly in the evenings, starting to get some decent groups (image is four consecutive arrows, I only had 3 in my quiver, so the far right image is 50 yds).

In reality, I have never shot an elk past 45 yds, and most of my shots have been under 20.

Like Paul, I want em slobbering on my boot laces, but any of the top 3 pins I feel completly confident in. Got 2 more below those 3, but they are reserved for the gambling guys in camp or as a follow up shot at an animal with an arrow allready in it. (no, I wont shoot a gambler, but I'll gladly take his money) :D Closest shot was at 15yds & the farthest was a little over 30..top pin= meat in the pot!
