Could have killed a spike bull yesterday

Unfortunately I only have a deer tag in NM.

As I topped a small ridge there was a spike bull feeding with his head down about 20 yard in front of me. I took 2 steps back and got down and watched him for about a minute. I decide to try to take a pic, but my cell was in my butt pack. As I tried to unzip it the bull started looking in my direction unable to see what made the noise, he stood looking for 30 secs. then walked off. Right about then a doe took off on the next ridge over, I figured the bull had spooked her. I finished unzipping the compartment to take the cell phone out, when the bull spooks out from behind a tree about 30 yards away. He stopped on the next ridge about 100 yards out and looked at me. I took some pics, but the quality of the pic on my cell is not very good.

I have seen at least five 300 plus bull and 4 spikes, but not one shooter buck. One was about 350 inch class and had 15 cows herded very tightly in front of him. Tomorrow I head up to CO, where I'm sure I will see a ton of bucks a no bulls. :o
