Was it worth it?

Kind of a spin off of elknuts wait thread. For all of you that have put in for trophy units and waited for years to draw. Was it worth the wait? If so what unit and how many points did it take?

I do not know if the wait is worth it or not. I am not sure the draw unit idea is good or not. It sure takes a long time to draw a quality unit tag, and if you are not perfectly coordinated with your hunting companions you can draw when they don't and vice versa.

And don't forget weather. I've sure had weather ruin a 5 day hunt.

For the 21 years I waited for one hunt, I did not sit out them not hunting. I never missed a season. Whether buying a left over tag or an OTC tag.
However, the bull I did tag was not as big as I wanted, it was the biggest I saw in ten days. Scoring it myself ,it was 343 nontypical 7x8

The size of the elk when first applying vs the size when a person actually gets the tag, can go downhill
