The sheds were picked up by boy scouts on the elk refuge north of Jackson Wy. in 2013 then matched by refuge volunteers. The decision was made to mount the pair.

Should give some of us something else to dream about!!

I have seen some huge bulls from the highway, in the sage brush, at the base of the Tetons, north of Jackson Hole.

Sure is a beautiful piece of real estate.

My buddy who guides around Jackson hunts cows o the refuge really late in the year. They see some monsters. There are 400 inch sheds found there every year. It's just really cool to me to know that those bulls walked there on public land from public land and they were there for the taking for anyone who wanted to hunt that country. I've seen some bulls that were killed by some outfitters up there and they were insane huge beautiful racks with great character. One of the deterrents in that neck of the woods is grizzlies. If it weren't for that one little thing I'd have probably wandered up that way by now.

I get the question all the time "What is the potential for size in the area?"

The areas I hunt are all pretty similar. I wouldn't hunt there if I didn't have a realistic chance at a 300+ bull with 320 being very possible. But in addition to that there are the monsters. Will you cross paths with one on your first 1 week hunt? I doubt it. You might never. But you have to believe. I usually know about a few of the giants that have bee taken I the past I the area. So I have a idea if the definition of a monster there is 340, 370... or even bigger. When I'm somewhere and I know that a 370 came from there and that this one guide has been chasing a particular 380 bull for several years now you better believe I believe!

The biggest Rocky Mt elk that are ranched raised genetics originally came from north of Jackson. One thing about that region good typical 6x6 horn growth is most common
