National Forest areas in WY

Looking to find hunting regs and detail info with hunting national forest areas in WY that are not wilderness.

For example if hunting a national forest area that is not wilderness can a nonresident set a camp in any spot in the nat forest area? Or do they have to be designated camp areas? How long can you set a camp in the area? Can I simply follow a trail back a few miles and set a spike camp anywhere? Or follow a 4x4 road to a trail-head and camp near there? might be a dumb questions but If its national forest that is not wilderness is that the same as saying its public ground and you can hunt and camp in any spot?

National Forest in WY is the same as National Forest in any other state.

You can camp anywhere, I believe they call it "dispersed camping". Of course , they encourage you to use established campgrounds and pre-existing camp sites to minimize impact.

There may or may not be fire bans in place at the time you visit.

ATV's are allowed only on designated roads, you can get the maps for free from the organized ATV groups

Wyoming does not seem to have as many regulations regarding camping as say Colorado. Along the front range of Colorado, you practically need a permit to have a picnic.

You can camp anywhere for a max of 14 days. The only exception which I doubt you'll run into is an outfitter's designated camp site. Some are in the back country and some at trailheads. They will have a sign posted if they have paid for the designated site. Also I do know some areas with different time limits. One place I hunt has a 5 day limit so check with the Forest Service for that articular National Forest. Once you have been there for the max allowable stay you have to move your camp 5 air miles.

Lots of potential "dispersed camping" locations.
Indian summer mentioned outfitters sites. Fairly rare, However they do seem to have some nice camp site locations. Wyoming's a big place I spent about 70 nights this year in a tent In Montana Idaho and Wyoming. We paid for camping two consecutive nights this year, because my wife wanted the nice toilets A nice place we had to share with one other couple.
a lot of forest Service fee site can be really nice and seldom used , The pic out of the 20 or so sights nearly 1/3 had meat poles
Toilets water and firewood.
