How much boned out meat on an elk?

I meant to post this a while ago but forgot. It's an older article but pretty interesting on how much certain aged elk weigh, and, approximately how much meat you'll get off one. You'll see the huge difference between packing out quarters vs. boneless. Not sure it's 100% accurate but doesn't seem too far off. RJ

Thanks. Me and a buddy was just having this discussion yesterday and I told him you wouldnt get more that a couple hundred pounds from a cow and he told me I was full of it because you would get ALOT more meat...... well I sent him that chart and set him straight... Thanx again..

Seemed pretty close to me. A couple of cows we got between 200 and 220 lbs. & about the same for your basic raghorn with a couple a bit larger. My biggest bull was a whopping 360 lbs. of boned meat !

He was big but not that big...
