Where to find elk in CO?

If you are coming in from out of state and are new to an area, my maps may be able to help you out. I have been in business for two years now, and more than half the guys ordering my maps are repeat customers. Why? Because they show you the areas where elk are more than likely to be found. could you please explain how your services differ from that of a map from cabbalas that shows the elk habitat per unit or the big game cd that overlays on google maps. I have invested a lot of $$$ in mapping. Id love to hear how you go about putting together your maps and how they differ? i say this because if you have boots on the ground scouting or are putting together more specific maps on a smaller scale I'm all ears. IE why someone may hunt GMU 371 for example they may concentrate on one mtn, do your maps only focus on the areas i would hunt?

Hi Justin,

No offense taken and glad you are interested. The maps offered through Cabelas only show elk ranges such as winter and summer concentration areas. In my opinion, these maps are good for showing you which GMUs to hunt based upon the time of the year. They are not very specific and do not show you where the elk should be located down to the acre. My maps show you the detail needed to get into elk based upon the actual forage on the ground and the surrounding bedding areas. Please check out the link and more on my website.

Going in colorado the third season in unit 53 mostly the southeastern edge and some in 54. Will be hunting public land near Somerset (Robinson and Little Robinson creek) that is almost inaccessible except by entering through private land. No ATV's allowed. I'll have a cow tag and a bull tag. Just curious if any of you guys have hunted that area and what I can expect?
