Early season archery success?

I was curious if anyone has had much success during the start of September for archery elk hunting in Colorado. (September 1st-9th). Specifically in the Flat Tops.

my buddy stuck a decent 5x opening morning last year. I tend to focus on mule deer for the first bit, where I hunt I can hunt both, so if I glass up some elk I will give it a go. no experience with the flat tops, but I reckon elk are all over this state, so you have decent odds. good luck
