Thanks for the introduction and thanks to everybody above for the welcome. I look forward to getting to know the members of this forum. As mentioned above, I make some rather unique maps that are tailored to help maximize your chances of finding more elk during your scouting and hunting trips within Colorado.
But before I get into my maps, I'll give you a little background about myself. I have lived in CO for almost 50 years now, and started hunting with my Dad when I was a kid. I have been working as an environmental consultant for close to 20 years which has allowed me the unique oppoertunity to work with many of the western states Game and Fish Departments as well as the Forest Service and BLM. Through these relationships, I was able to learn about the parameters these agencies use to define areas that elk avoid as well as where they retreat to once under pressure. It is a combination of these parameters that I have used to depict hot spots, security habitat, and primary forage areas on my maps.
