Elk calling for beginners

Postby Johndeere » 08 15, 2012 •  [Post 1]

I've been elk hunting for a couple of years now. I recently came across this site and have found it to be extremely useful. I have seen you mention a few times when calling elk you use the nervous grunt or bugle. What resources are available to me to learn this call and others that would be useful. At this time I am using Primos blue reed bugles and different cow calls that work well, but I would like to expand my elk vocabulary.

Here's a great instructional clip on the nervous grunt.

Also, Paul Medel's Bugling Bulls on Beyond Volume 1-4 is a great resource to expand your elk vocabulary.

My 2-cents.

Go to the top of this page and click on (Elknut Video Clips) Lots of good stuff there. Also as others have mentioned, order the video set 1 thru 4 .
