Sitting on a little rock ledge haven a snack middle of the afternoon on a warm day pulled out the bugle a gave a little locator bugle and just like that a mule bray’s back at me, I wasn’t far from a trail so it made perfect sense to hear a mule, I bugle again the mule brays again back and forth for about five minutes or so and the mule sounded like it was getting closer and not feeling real sociable I moved back into the woods and when I was about 75 yards away from where I had been sitting I heard the mule bray again. I turned around and there was a bull making most mule like sounds I had ever heard, he pissed on the rock ledge I had been sitting on and went on down the hill. Now I realize that wasn’t as amazing as Theelkhunter’s experience put it was still entertaining and taught me I should be a little more patient about what I am doing in the woods….

Still trying to post pics without success. I'm kinda of tech challenged, but if anyone can help me out I will post a pic or two of a bull I encountered the other day that I think will smash the Colorado state record!

I don't use photobucket or even know what that is, but thanks for your response last time I asked, cnelk. I never have any trouble on another site I sometimes visit.

If you use other Forums to post photos with no issues then it may be you have not sized your photos to fit Forum here? This Forum only allows up to 800 pixels! If photos are larger then they need to be re-sized! This is this way to save server space!

Well since I am " Crazy Elk Hunter" :D , I guess all my encounters are crazy :o Actually I mentioned a really neat encounter on another thread. A few years ago, I was walking a trail when 2 elk appeared out of nowhere at close range. I had no cover and just stood still. A young 5x5 bull was on top of a mature cow with his tongue hanging out, his front legs were dangling off the ground, his rear legs were shuffling to try and keep up with her, but she would not stop. When they got to within a few yards, she spotted me, spun and jumped right out from underneath him leaving him standing with his pants down. :o He just stood there dumbfounded, at just a few yards away, wandering what just happened for several seconds. Then he locked eyes on me and then all hell broke loose. He was not the bull I was after, and I never even raised my bow, but I sure wish I had my video camera out. Definitely a Kodak Moment. I have had a lot of encounters, but by far, this one was the funniest.

Yahoo! I finally figured out how to resize my pictures! How about this for a crazy encounter? Saw this guy the other day in a draw unit. Pretty sure he would break the Colorado record if killed! Thanks for the help with pic sizing guys!

She looked annoyed by him and would not stop, he looked determined no matter how fast she was walking. He looked like he was on the 4th hour of a Viagra pill  I have no idea how long this was going on, but they both looked wore out.

It all started five years ago. My daughter drew an antelope tag. We kept seeing deer droppings or what we thought was deer droppings. ( droppings are much smaller in the desert) One day we came over an edge and there were two bulls laying under the shade of Idaho sagebrush,.. that sighting changed my life :o

We checked the regs to see if we could run to town and get an OTC archery tag,.. It would have been the perfect stalk.

Before you could buy an elk decoy(1980s) I made a lifesize cow out of felt and a large dia. wire sewed in along her spine,I called her gurdy, anyway I was just setting her up and crash! crash! crash! this bull runs right up to me,within a few feet, sees me, and crash! crash! crash! he is gone. All about that fast.I love the komakazy bulls.
