Today's Close Encounter

Postby POk3s » 06 03, 2012 •  [Post 1]

Went scouting/bear hunting today. Wanted to find a different way into the area I killed my bull in last year. I found the way in, it's just a LONG way and if it's a marked trail I'd be shocked. It goes across shale, swamp, through the willows, and everything else. Definitely not a cake walk, but better then up and over 3 sleep ridges. Anyway, I looked up to see this cow on the same trail I was on, so I jumped off, ripped my pack off, and found my camera. Right when I hit record she was in my face....and then proceeds to yell at me for a while after. I don't think she's ever seen a human before.

Good video. How many times do we hear that a year but never get it on video. Fun to see in the off season.

Yep, I'm glad I remembered about the camera. Had thoughts of not trying to get it because when I spotted her she just crested a hill about 100 yards out and was coming fast. Didn't want to make too much noise and spook her off but she didn't seem to mind...obviously hahahaha. She was still making noise after 10 minutes. I finally just left and could still hear her behind me.

Wyoming. You were getting narrowed in lol! yea this area is no joke. There's a reason there's no maintained trails in there! I like it that way :)

Found 4 bulls on Tuesday about 2 miles away from that spot. Only one of them looked to be a big mature bull....regardless, It's gonna be a great year in "MY" spot :).
