Lifesize elk target cover

Hi everyone, was wondering if anyone has tried out the life size elk target cover from Poison Arrow Gear? My girlfriend has rifle hunted deer for years but she will be bowhunting in 2015 and going after elk as well. It looks like it could be a great tool to get her ready, be fun for me to shoot at too! Any thoughts or comments? Thanks

I havn't sold many of these. You never know what will sell and what won't.
It is a great tool. You get a good feel of how an elk looks at different yds.

James... any chance of you making me one of these with a cow moose on it?

I have a moose hunt in Alaska planned and would love to take one with me. I have a Montana Decoy of a rear end of a cow moose but it's small. This thing could really help seal the deal for me on a rutting bull. I'll be on a small lake the entire time. I think I could come up with a way to stand it up in my inflatable raft and shoot over the top. I've been thinking about something like that for a couple years but never really knew how I might go about it.

James, I'm pretty sure the picture you're seeking, and, would give the best representation of a cow moose would look eerily similar to Indian Summer's 8th grade girlfriend. Wait...I think that would look a lot like my 8th grade girlfriend.. Let me know, I think I have a picture

I haven't been on the forum in a while so I'm glad I checked in today. Jmez is correct. I have one of these and it is a ton of fun to shoot at. I just set my bag target behind the vitals. I folded the ends over and sewed little pockets that I slide over a 1.5 inch piece of PVC and then I have a pvc across the top that attached the two side pieces and holds them apart. I set two small posts in the ground and slide the pvc side pieces over them. Easy to set up and take down.

Indian Summer, I'm in the process of trying to set up a moose hunt. I'd love to pick your brain on the subject.

ctdad... I have so much info on moose hunts it would make your head spin. Moose can be fairly easy... or fairly non-existent. I planned this hunt around 8 years ago with the help of a guy who hunted the spot several times. Him and some other internet friends have been extremely helpful. Then last month I struck gold when I called an outfitter who is waaaay to expensive for me. I knew that he knew where my lake was and also that he might be using it. I told him I had thought of just beating him there but I figured I'd just take the high road and ask him if he planned to take clients there. He laughed. I also told him... and this is the truth... that I was told he was a big dude and if I pissed him off in the middle of nowhere he might just kick my ass on the spot. He really laughed at that.... and then... offered to fly me there cheap. When I hung up I let out a wooo hooo that sent my cats running to the other end of the house and my wife wondering what the hell was going on.

Alaska can be tricky. Some areas have low numbers but huge bulls. Other places have great q quantity but nothing very big. I've heard it said that even where there are a lot of moose.... there aren't really a lot of moose. Caribou is easy and I'll be doing that next. But a moose hunters best kept secret is his pilot. So if I told you who mine was I'd have to kill you. But I know a couple other really good ones. As a matter of fact a friend who outfits Prince William Sound for mountain goat emailed me yesterday. I begged him for years to tell me who his pilot was. him and his wife live in Anchorage and have killed some dandy bulls. He wouldn't budge. But he said he's done going up there so he told me who to call. Interestingly it was a name already on my hit list. The other reason he told me is because the area went to a draw. The area I'm hunting is also a draw but very high odds because access is poor. Locals run rivers and there is so much of the unit that has no stream access. That means you have to fly and lots of Alaska residents don't need or want to pay that kind of money to hunt. They are grocery shopping. I guess the first question is when do you want to hunt? I do know a place with some good bulls that's not a draw along with a good pilot to put you in a spot. But those guys are booking by the day right now. The deadline for draw units is December 15th... right around the corner. One thing is for sure... no float hunts! In Alaska streams are roads and you'll never have one to yourself.

I knew it! I thought Grizelda M. Clutchbutt was acting strangely when I asked her if she was seeing somebody else. Didn't know you were outfitting in MT when I was in junior high but I do now.. sneaky dog, I hope you're proud of yourself mister. You broke up a beautifull relationship.. That girl could pack 1/2 an elk in one trip at 14 years old... with a packboard!

James... keep me posted on ay word from those photographers. I would definitely like to get a full sized cow moose. Can you superimpose a yellow grass background all around it? That would give a great contrast to a dark brown moose so it stands out.

They replied on that picture, they want $180.00 for a one time use. Wow! That is the highest price I have seen.
