Follow up report, Tree stand success!!!

Well, after logging about 42 hours in my tree stands, I finally got it done Thursday evening. This is definitely not the biggest bull in the woods, but he's my first archery elk and I'm thrilled with him! My nephew had to go to Montana this weekend and my hunting buddy couldn't get out of work. I decided to go hunt solo, I know, not the smartest thing to do. Any way I got this bull around 6:00 PM Thursday night. I skinned, quartered, and packed out the back straps, tenderloins, and some neck/rib meat that night. A few text messages and phone calls on the way out and help was on the way. We packed the head, front shoulders, and hind quarters out on Friday. Many thanks to my friend Tom and nephew Darrin!

I also owe a lot of credit to "Swede" here on this website! I ordered and read his book, Tree Stand Hunting the Rocky Mountain Elk! The book is available on this website. It's a good read for anyone considering tree stand hunting for elk! I highly recommend it!

Nice Bull.Maybe you can put the time in the stand into a nice hunting story for us to read ,all the way up to the shot . I've read some good stories on here already.I think I might have to order that book just to have more good info in my library for a winters day read this winter.Plus, I'm sure there is good info in there.
