Close but no cigar

I had a bull and 5 cows come in this morning to 57 yards but it was too thick for a shot. My son had a beautiful 5x5 at 50 chasing cows. The cows stopped in the open but the bull was behind some brush then ran off chasing them again. We are on some hot sign right now so hopefully one of us can get a shot in the next week and a half. Very few bugles as of yet but it should start heating up soon.

Lots of bugling and cow chasing this morning. Called in a bull that was about 60 yards behind a spruce tree and had a muzzleloader hunter storm in trying to get a shot and spooked him. I think it was the same guy that I flashed my light at just as it was breaking daylight. Kinda rude but it's public land so I guess you have to put up with it.

Keep at it, it can be frustrating on public land. We have lost 2 great Bulls this year to pretty dumb hunters blowing it as they came in. Both times we were withing seconds of the killing shot lol

We are still at it. The other hunters didn't show up today but neither did the bulls. From bulls bugling everywhere yesterday to not a peep today. Back in our climbers this afternoon watching some good trails coming from a bedding area.
