Rifle sight in for hunt?!?! Help needed

Hello I'm going on a hunt this year in an area around 7,500 feet in elevation. The problem is that there is no way for me to sight in my rifle up there and I live around 400 feet. Any suggestions on how I might solve this problem. I want my rifle sighted in at 100yds. I'm shooting an old ruger m77 .270 150 grain. Thanks

Not gonna be much difference, just less drag on the bullet from less air so it may hit a touch higher at longer distance so to lose as much momentum, I sight my 270 in at 150 yards and have no problems but I live at 6600 just take a practice shot or 2 once you hit elevation

dont need to sight in again.....I live at sea level, hunt at 10K feet, never been an issue, ever.....I have shot my 338 and 300 at altitude at a target and I could see zero difference, zero...think of something else to worry about

You could just reference an online ballistic program. You'll need to know your ballastic coefficient and muzzle velocity. But unless you're planning on doing some long range shooting, it isn't going to make much of a difference to worry about.

100 yards isn't far enough to worry about any difference.

It sounds like maybe your first elk hunt?

If so take a small bit of advice: Elk country is big. Unless you know for absolutely certain that you will be hunting inside the timber all of the time I would say sight your gun in for 3 inches high at 100 yards. If you hit 3 inches high on an elk it won't matter. But it will sure help if you see one at 225 yards, which is NOTHING out there.

In the world of elk hunting one saying could be used as an answer to lots of question and that is: Hope for the best but plan for the worst. 200+ yards is far from the worst though. You might see them at 1.5 miles. Can't sight in for that!
