Elk decoy

I am the owner of Poison Arrow Gear decoys. I am trying to develop a product that works for most hunters most of the time.

One concern that has been voiced numerous times about my decoy is the wind. When you have a decoy attached to your bow, wind does become an issue. I have looked at different options to address this.

At this point I wonder if less is better. While calling you try to call enough to convince the elk that you are real but not so much that he figures out that you are not . I am wondering if a decoy will work the same way.

See the attached picture of how I have cut my decoy down to the ears and eyes. It deals with the wind problem also.

I like the input I get off of this forum. It helps me develop a better product

If you would like some Research and development help. I am hunting 30 days and video taping every single day. I would be happy to test your theory out and video tape it to let you know... I leave tomorrow morning however I am having some stuff mailed to a restaurant that is close to where I'll be hunting, you could mail it there as well. I use their wifi and watch the football games on Sundays. I would be happy to keep you updated throughout the month so you wouldn't have to wait till the end of the season to get some feed back on your idea.

I've shot with mine half a dozen times in wind at home over the last couple weeks. I didn't think wind was that big of a deal. I'd like to see one in camo rather than an elk. I love the fact that it conceals your drawing motion. I wonder if I really want an elk focusing hard on me as a decoy? I'll be hunting all weekend so hopefully I put it to use.

I used this decoy this weekend in Colorado. I would deploy it while cold calling and just fold it up while moving around. It took me about 3-4 seconds to deploy. Maybe 30-40 seconds to wrap it up. It is very light weight. Crazy wind one day and it didn't blow the decoy around too much in my opinion. I'll use it in two weeks in Montana too. I'll be leaving mine as is for now. But if you print one in camo, I'd like to try that too. It is great for concealing most of the drawing action.
