Preserving The Memories

In a recent phone conversation with one of my elk hunting buddies we where kicking ourselves because we have not done more through the years to perserve our elk camp memories. We have taken a few group pics but not enough. He recommended something neat that he had heard of and that was that everyone sign the outfitter tent with their name the date and what they killed?
Just wondered what you other elk nuts do to perserve your memories??

Yes sir, I hear you there! We do our best to take many more photos than we ever did 10 years ago & before.We picked up a new walltent last year from the wall-tent-shop for a Muley hunt of my sons, inside on the back right corner he has the first kill & date of his success, I hope there's many more Deer & Elk to come to be scrolled in there! (grin)

I do not take a lot of pictures. I take a few, but I keep a record of my kills with supplemental information. I also write a story about my hunts, including both the successful and unsuccessful ventures.

I have a baggie full of rifle fired brass. Each has the date and location it killed an elk, written in Sharpie. I take quite a few pics as well.

Trying to get more video. Getting easier constantly with all the new technology, but still involves one more thing to do in a moment that may be a once in a lifetime opportunity.

I keep a spiral notebook in my wall tent and write a few paragraphs about the days activities at the end of each day. Not always easy when bone tired, but it sure is fun to go back an read about our elk encounters.
