How to carry bugle tube?

These things are not the most convenient to carry, especially if you want to have it relatively accessible. I carry it over my neck and one shoulder, and rotate it behind my back when not in use so that the mouthpiece end is pointed down and the "megaphone" end is pointed up. Then I tuck the mouthpiece end behind the bottom of my pack's shoulder strap until I need it. I realize that sounds confusing but it's pretty simple... And not that great of a solution.

Anybody have some better ideas to share?

I carry mine the same way most of the time.
I have a Kifaru Timberline 1 pack and I have attached the cord to the shoulder lift straps before and just stuffed the tube into one of the side pouches of the pack, when needed reach up on my right side and pull on the cord to pull it out of the side pocket.

I do it exactly the same, I haven't found a better way. Maybe someone else on the forum will change that

Same here. Seems to work ok so far. Haven't found a better way yet. We use the rather unwieldy Bugling Bull tubes but they are worth it for the great sound they produce.

I'm not sure if I'm the only one this has happened to (but I doubt it).

I've lost a few bugles because I have slung them over my shoulder on the outside of my pack. You stop to get some goodies out of the pack, take the bugle off, set it on the ground, get your goodies, spend some time looking around a bit and gather your stuff...walk a 1/2-mile and realize your bugle is still lying on the ground at the previous spot! Doh!

Since then, the bugle goes over my shoulder first, then the pack. Taking my pack off never requires removal of the bugle. With the pack on, I just stuff the big-end of the bugle through my shoulder strap and behind my shoulder. It also keeps the bell of the bugle quiet while I'm working through brush and timber...it's smashed against the rear stays of my pack and quells any bumps/resonance. If I need to bugle, bend your head down, point the back-end bell of the bugle in the direction you wish and blow - it's out of your way and quiet if you need to prepare for a shot.

You must not be the only one because I have found a few tubes in the hills. I keep mine lashed on the back of my Badlands 2200. The bottom rests in the little mesh pouch and the straps across the back snug it down. I can reach over my shoulder and pull it out pretty quick and in the meantime it is never flopping around loose. That prevents me from losing it and.... from over calling! lol
