Popping grunt?

Postby Toby » 07 10, 2014 •  [Post 1]

I have listened to it on Paul ' stapes.

What I am curious about is how do you make the sound without a reed, just using your voice.

Do you try to say a certain word/sound?

Alright toby, lets see if I can do this:
EEEEEEYYOOUUUUU! Say "E" then "U" Try to get the "U" from the bottom of your gut, almost like the end of a grunt. Trust me, it doesnt have to be perfect, but they WILL stop.

This sound works great Toby, also practice making this sound, by voice or reed, as you draw your bow. Most of us anchor at a part of our jawbone, and making this sound causes your lower jaw to move.

Toby, are you able to imitate the grunt sound now with your voice?

I think I can do it. Doesn't seem real hard, thanks for the good description.
