Gravellry range road

Postby GOOSE » 05 28, 2014 •  [Post 1]

In the process of planning for my second archery elk hunt in as many years. Last year was in CO. This year will be solo in sw MT. As of right now i am planning on coming in from the top. If anyone has any tips/pointers for the area it would be much appreciated.(Road conditions , hunting pressure, hikers, etc)

Thanks a bunch
Kyle

Black and Grizzlies in the area.
Great country, I killed my first elk just a few miles to the south on Cascade Mt
Some good access ATV trails but far enough apart they arent a problem.
The area use to have a lot of pressure for Montana, Lots of Utahans since it is close to SLC. some big bulls
The price increase really eliminated of lot of OOS, so the pressure is way less
Some of the area isnt real steep so in a sense easier hunting.
Cattle grazing is much better than it was 25 years ago,

Should be a good hunt for you, you selected well
