Special hunt for disabled vets

Postby >>>---WW----> » 07 22, 2012 •  [Post 1]

I had an outfitter approach me today with this offer for a rifle hunt.

If you pay the full price for a hunt for yourself, you can bring along a disabled vet with you and his or her hunt will be free of charge. So if you know of a vet with a disability that would like a free hunt. you can PM me for details and I'll put you in touch with the outfitter.

Bill, very very cool.

I'd like to get some details on this. What kind of terrain would the vet have to cover? What are the costs for the other hunter? Success odds? OTC or limited entry?

As long as he didn't double his price, give him a BIG THANK YOU.

PS-Thanks to all the vets and their families.

I am a disabled vet of OIF and if this opportunity is still available elk hunting is something I have always dreamed of. So if anyone is having a hard time finding someone let me know.
Thanks.

For those who don't know, OIF is "Operation Iraqi Freedom". I'm a retired Army 1SG myself and appreciate all of our American heros who have served and sacrificed for our great nation. They "are" the reason we can live the way we live, and hunt, in the greatest nation on earth. I emplore all of you to continue to support our troops as they serve abroad. Sounds like a great program WW. Thanks for starting the thread. v/r RJ

I hope this sweet deal works out for the vet, the hunter, the outfitter and his staff.
God bless America.

Fantastic opportunity! I know that there are a lot more vets out there wanting to hunt than opportunities like this for them, so it's great to see this come along.

That is wonderful opportunity for a Vet. I'm sure if the word gets out one of them will take advange it. I have been taking a disabled Vet from the Veitnam War hunting with me for many years now. Its the least any of us can do for the men and women who has served and sacrified for us, so we have the freedom to hunt and enjoy a way of life that many countrys don't have.

So thank you all for our freedom and God Bless
