New member new to Elk

Postby Steve G » 03 24, 2014 •  [Post 1]

Hello and thank you to all who have proceeded for the loads of copy. I have never seen, or heard an elk before with the exception of some toads standing off the U.S. Route 395 a couple years back.

I have read several books on the subject and watched countless hours of "hunting videos" but its the personal experiences of fellow hunters getting it done on public land that really helps me the most.

I am interested in elk hunting first for the adventure, secondly for the meat, third for the challenge and then for the trophy. I will gladly pick up a rifle for an elk hunt, but really look forward to having a bull scream in my face at archery ranges.

Thank you.
Steve

Yes, welcome! It's fun to see all these new faces showing up as we all start getting geared up for making preparations over the next 6 months. Of course I started preparing about 5 months ago.

Welcome Steve, you've come to the right place! Once you've experienced it, kill or not, it is something you'll never forget. It's has become my favorite animal to hunt by far.

Welcome to camp! When you start hunting elk, it might seem like chasing Bigfoot. But with good knowlege and support, it can be done. Next thing you know, you're addicted.
