Sound Cloud and the "post em up threads

Postby Trophyhill » 03 20, 2014 •  [Post 1]

I don't know about you guys but soundcloud just isn't doing some of you guys justice. 1 reason I haven't jumped in on these threads. I'm gonna try something this weekend and see if it works a little better. I'm gonna find a quiet place outdoors where you don't hear any road traffic, step back 10-20 yards, record and upload to youtube. I think recording in your living room hinders your sounds as well. What do you guys think of dumping soundcloud?

David, I'm with you bud! Soundcloud definitely misrepresents sound quality, sounds sound much tinnier & fake with their system & possibly PC speakers aren't the best? Really not sure where to point the finger! (grin) I'm still going to give the Iphone a shot as Troy mentioned in another thread, I've just been too busy to do so as of yet! Thanks for your concern & interest!

Try recording it on your soundcloud app on your phone and see if that changes it. That's what I've been doing do to the fact my phone seems to have better speaker sound.

I still think it is worth doing. I can tell the difference in quality of calls on sound cloud. I pretty much just use my phone and listening back through head phones is much better sound quality than the speaker on the phone. I use blue tooth head phones that I listen to music with while working out.

I agree that the soundcloud recordings are not the best; no argument there. But...... to make a VID and post to you tube takes much longer to perform. Some of my older VIDs I put on you tube took up to 15 minutes to load for a 3 minute clip. Soundcloud is very easy to use and significantly faster to upload/post. I'm not sure the sound quality of the posted recordings is "that" significant in the post em up threads. I think they come through clear enough to know how they sound and if the offeror is hitting the correct cadence and pitch.. The tone may suffer a bit but not a show stopper IMO. Yes?

I agree that soundcloud does not have the best recording sound. I also cannot hear any sounds from them on my MAC Book. I have trouble as well on my HP. Recording on your phone and posting as a MP4 file seems to work better with a clearer sound recording.
